Clifford Hunter Obituary

Clifford Albert Hunter of Wimberly, Texas completed his journey on this earth November 20, 2022. Cliff was born January 2, 1965 to the late Clifford (Bud) Hunter and Belva June Indig in Ardmore, Oklahoma.

Cliff attended school in Fox, Healdton, Ardmore, and graduated from high school in Marlow, Oklahoma. He became skilled at making friends of all kinds. He went on to attend Southeastern Oklahoma State University on a football scholarship, where he was an active member of the Sigma Tau Gamma fraternity. He loved his Sig Tau brothers, and remained active with the fraternity throughout his life. Cliff was known for his engaging personality and tenacious competitive nature, which he utilized to excel in the semi-conductor and metal fabrication industry gathering clients and friends along the way.

In 1989, Cliff and Lesli Brown were married and together they have three children; Megan Danielle (Dani), Clifford Aaron and Timothy Colt. In 2011, Cliff married his high school sweetheart, Lori Johnson Hart at their home in Wimberly, Texas. Through this marriage he gained two bonus sons, Dillon Hart and Drew Hart. His children were always the greatest joy in his life.

Cliff loved life, adventure, and competition! He coached his children in sports, always loving every minute. He always said he liked kids more than adults, because they were so honest. The year Cliff turned 50, he and Lori traveled to Pamplona Spain so he could fulfill a bucket list item and participate in the Running of the Bulls. This sparked a love of travel, which led to multiple trips to Europe and Israel, a country he truly loved. He and Lori took every opportunity to travel and embrace the history and culture of others. Cliff ran with the bulls in Spain, wore his lederhosen at the Oktoberfest in Munich, explored Israel seeking understanding of their countries culture and heartache. Cliff also embarked on a journey that allowed him to retrace his father's journey during WWII throughout Europe standing where his father stood.

More than anything Cliff was a man of strong faith. He accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior, and never hid his beliefs. But most of all, Cliff was about family. He loved his children beyond measure, and was so proud of each of them. They were the joy of his life. This joy only multiplied with the arrival of his grandsons. If you were his friend, you were part of his family. He would be there for you no matter what, without question. His generosity knew no bounds. Cliff's boisterous laugh and contemplative sayings will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Thankfully, they are embossed in the hearts of those that loved him, along with his fatherly advice and philosophical quips.

Cliff is was preceded in death by his father Clifford "Bud" Hunter, his brother Gary Hunter, and his brother-in-law Matthew Miller, whom he loved as a brother. He is survived by his devoted wife Lori, Wimberley, TX, his children Dani Hunter, Austin, TX, Clifford Hunter (Hope), New Braunfels, TX, Tim Hunter, Sugarland, TX, Drew Hart, Austin, TX, Dillon Hart, Oklahoma City, OK, his grandson's Clifford Ace Hunter and Lennux Hart-Ward, Mother Belva Indig, Dallas, TX, sisters Debby Miller, West Columbia, TX and Katherine Edie Brendel, Dallas, TX, sisters in love, Jennifer Swisher (Scott), Oklahoma City, OK, Angela Johnson (Chuck) Euless, TX, Candice Clifford, Carrollton, TX, father and mother-in-law Jake and Dortha Johnson, Oklahoma City, numerous nieces and nephews, and family members by blood and love.

A private internment ceremony and memorial service were held in Ardmore, OK on November 26th. A celebration of Cliff will be held at Community Pizza in Wimberely, TX on Sunday, Dec. 4th from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm. All who knew and loved Cliff are welcome.
