It is with deep love and cherished memories that we announce the passing of Alice Mae Watson on September 7, 2025.
Born on August 8, 1926 in
Winchester, Indiana, Alice Mae was a spirited, thoughtful, loving, and ambitious woman who touched the lives of everyone she met.
As Helen Keller rightly said, "The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched - they must be felt with the heart." And felt they were, in every interaction with Alice.
Alice Mae was a steady pillar of the Winchester community, and her active involvement in the First United Methodist Church and the Add-A-Link Club. Her love of travel took her and her late husband, Norman Watson, to the farthest corners of the world, and her love for music filled their home with joyous melodies. As an avid reader, Alice was always equipped with a new story or piece of wisdom to share. She was a spirited Winchester Falcon Follower, and her love for her community was evident in the friendships formed around the family pool. Alice Mae's family farm held a special place in her heart, reflecting her deep-rooted love for her family and her community.
Alice Mae is survived by her devoted daughter, Cheryl (Tom) Zell, and cherished grandchildren, Lisa (Dan) Waber, Chad (Laura) Sipe, Brad Younts, Joe (Lindsey) Younts, Jane Zell, and Kathie (Brett) Wright. She leaves behind a legacy of love in her great-grandchildren, Celia (Evan) Moss, Nicholas Wright, Elliott Waber, Kaibrey (Logan) Earlywine, Iris Smith, Jacob Wright, Carter Younts, and Joey Wright, and her great-great-grandchildren, Lillian Waber, and Ivy Younts. She is also survived by her brother, Joe Greene Jr. Alice was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Lucille Greene, her beloved husband, Norman Watson, and her daughter, Carla Watson.
Alice Mae's life will be celebrated on Monday, September 15, 2025, at Wilson-Shook Funeral Homes And Cremation Center (Thornburg Memorial Chapel) located at 2048 North 1000 West,
Parker City, Indiana, 47368. Visitation will begin at 12:00 pm EDT, followed by the Celebration of Life at 2:00 pm EDT. Alice's enduring love, kindness, and spirit will forever be remembered by all who knew her.
