Jonathan Covert Obituary

Jonathan Wayne Covert, 43, of Ridgeville, suddenly and unexpectedly went home to be with his Lord on the afternoon of Sunday, August 12, 2018, at St. Vincent Randolph Hospital in Winchester.

He was born on January 13, 1975, in Terre Haute, Indiana, the first of four boys to Wayne and Diana (McCune) Covert.

Jonathan grew up as a preacher's kid and lived in Farmersburg, IN, Jamesville, NC, Hagerstown, IN, and Winchester, IN. As a boy, he loved basketball, baseball, boy scouts, and frog gigging in a North Carolina swamp. He made many friends wherever he went. Jonathan married the love of his life, Rebecca Wambach, on February 20, 1999. He graduated from Winchester High School and completed his Computer Aided Drafting degree at Vincennes University. He had worked for LW Clinton (formerly RW Clinton) in Richmond for 19 plus years then joined Performance Services in Indianapolis working as a project manager. He loved his Lord Jesus and ministered to hundreds of young people. He was Chairman of CYM of Friends Youth Camp for 21 years. Jonathan served as Youth Pastor for 18 years at Randolph Friends Church.

Those left to cherish Jonathan's memory include his wife of 19 years, Rebecca Covert; three children, Emily, Josiah, and Clare; his parents, Wayne and Diane Covert of Winchester; three brothers, Tim (Crystal) Covert of Markleville, Ben (Betsy) Covert of Evart, MI and Nathan (Christa) Covert of Daleville and many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, August 18, 2018, at Randolph Friends Church, 6531 N. 300 W., Ridgeville, Indiana, with Pastor Jonathan Edwards officiating. Burial will follow in Jericho Cemetery.

Friends may call from 4 - 8 pm Friday at the church.

"Flowers fade but the Word of God will live forever." In lieu of flowers, if you would like to offer a gift in Jonathan's memory of $5.00 to Gideon's International it will purchase a Bible that can bring life to the world.

I asked him how he keeps his stress down, during this project. He said looking forward to hunting. He was always smiling, regardless of the situation. A mighty man, even before he spoke. He will be missed. Prayers for his family...
