RICHMOND, Ind. – Palmer Davis, age 92, of Richmond, Indiana, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 1, 2025, at Brickyard – Golden Rule.
Born November 26, 1932, in Straughn, Indiana, to Kenneth and Margaret Stephens Davis. Palmer was a life-long resident of this area. He was a 1950 graduate of Richmond High School and served his country honorably in the United States Army during the Korean War. Following his military service, Palmer built a distinguished career in the home furnishing industry. He began with Holthouse Furniture, then continued at Bullerdick Furniture, before founding his own business - Winchester Furniture Showroom – in 1977. Through dedication and hard work, he successfully operated the showroom until his retirement in 1995. Known for his outgoing personality and strong work ethic, Palmer was an avid bowler, enjoyed traveling, and cherished time spent with family. His kindness, steady presence, and quick wit will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Patricia Davis; son, Dan Davis; and daughter, Susan Davis.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Margaret; and siblings, Phyllis, Ted, Suzanne, Maurice, Marvin, and Patricia.
Private services for Palmer Davis will be held at the convenience of the family. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Arrangements are being handled by Doan & Mills Funeral Home, 790 National Road West, Richmond.
