Reba Shockney Obituary

Reba (Lucile) Shockney, 103 1/2, of Muncie, formerly of Winchester, passed away Monday, July 25, 2011 at the Lynd House in Muncie.
She was born January 8, 1908 in Randolph County to the late Elmer and Elsie Odle. She was a Housewife and helped her late husband David Shockney on the family farm. She was a member of the Main Street Christian Church in Winchester for 74 years.
Survivors include a son, Dr. Thomas D. Shockney (wife Jimmie) of Gahanna, Ohio,; a daughter-in-law, Ruth Ellen Shockney of Farmland; four grandchildren, Steve Shockney (wife Rita) of Munice, Mark Shockney (wife Kim) of Farmland, Jeff Shockney (wife Julie) of Farmland, and Andy Shockney (wife Robin) of Gahanna, Ohio; six great grandchildren; and four great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, David H. Shockney who passed away in 2002, they were married for nearly 75 years; her son, Richard L. Shockney who died in 1992; two sisters, Doris and Beatrice; and a half brother, Merrett Monk.
Funeral services are 11 a.m. Thursday July 28, at Thayer Funeral Home, Winchester, with Pastor Cecil Cook officiating. Burial will be at Woodlawn Cemetery.
Friends of the family may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Online condolences may be expressed at [email protected]. Memorial contributions may be made to the Main Street Christian Church Building Fund, 220 South Main St. Winchester, IN. 47394.
