Mr. Bernie "Tommy" Lee Miller, 92, passed away on Friday, November 28, 2025, in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Bernie was born on January 12, 1933, in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, to Marshall L. Miller and Polly Ann Bowman Miller. He graduated from Griffith High School in 1951. Bernie served his country as a Staff Sergeant in the United States Air Force. In his younger years, he traveled with the Crusaders Quartet proclaiming the gospel of Christ through song and testimonies. He enjoyed impersonating "Elvis" at holiday events, birthdays, and other celebrations. Bernie retired from Western Electric with 38 years of service. He was preceded by his parents and siblings. He is survived by his loving wife, Ruth Gullie Miller; his three daughters, Teresa Miller Draughn (Randy), Rhonda Miller Russell (Gene), and Karen Miller Marshall (Todd); nine grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, December 3, 2025, at Kerwin Baptist Church with Pastor Daniel Hawtree officiating. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service at the church. A burial will immediately follow the service at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Kerwin Baptist Church Missions Fund, 4250 Old Hollow Rd., Winston-Salem, NC 27107. Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel is respectfully serving the Miller family.

We have know Bernie for many years at Kerwin. Such a humble ,soft hearted ,talented and caring Christian.we loved to see his Elvis performances. Bernie influenced Dwight to start singing in church and encouraged him and helped him grow confidence. We loved to hear Bernie and Ruth sing in church and at church dinners.Bernie will be remember with a warm heart to all.prsyers and love to Ruth and his family.

I have known Bernie since we were teenagers. I treasure many memories of times shared through the years, most recently at Kerwin Baptist Church. May God comfort Ruth and all the family and loved ones of this dear man of God.
