LEONARD LEXINGTON Betty Leonard Oct. 30, 1935 - March 20, 2013 Betty Ann Swicegood Leonard age 77, passed away Wednesday night, March 20, 2013 at Clare Bridge of Winston-Salem. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 23 at Center United Methodist Church with the Rev. Dr. Stephen Pillsbury officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Betty was born in Davidson County on October 30, 1935 to Vilas Swicegood and Ruth Shoaf Swicegood. She was a member of Center United Methodist Church and retired from New Bridge Bank. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband; Johnny Lee Leonard. Surviving are two daughters, Johnsie Leonard Wallace and husband Charles, Marcia Leonard Craver and husband Steve all of Lexington; five grandchildren, Julie Craver Johnson and husband Skip of Charlotte, Ryan Lee Craver of Lexington, Fallon Wallace of Asheville, Porter Wallace and his twin sister Carli Wallace of Lexington; two great-grandchildren, Aiden Johnson and Elijah Johnson both of Charlotte, her sister; Barbara Lanning and husband JR, her brother; Jack Swicegood and wife Joyce all of Welcome. Memorials may be made to Alzheimer's Association, 1315 Ashleybrook Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103 and Community Homecare and Hospice, 225 Davie Avenue, Statesville, NC 28677. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, March 22 at Davidson Funeral Home, Hickory Tree Chapel. Davidson Funeral Home, Hickory Tree Chapel is assisting the family.
