MOCKSVILLE - Mr. Bobby Gene Gregory, 67, of Milling Road, died Sunday morning, Feb. 23, 2003, at his home. Mr. Gregory was born in Davie County May 3, 1935, to Ellen Griffith Gregory of Advance and the late Burton Gregory. He was a retired driver for Carolina Freight. He had also been a driver for McLean Trucking, worked at Hanes for a short while, and served for 12 years in the U.S. Army. He enjoyed cooking and fishing and spending quality time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Survivors include his mother; his wife, Brenda Stroud Gregory of the home; two daughters, Theresa Byrd and husband, Kenneth of Oakdale, La. and Lisa Shoaf and husband, Mike of Advance; a son, Michael Gregory and wife, Denise of Pfafftown; a stepdaughter, Jackie Hepler and husband, Ray Hepler Jr. of Mocksville; 11 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and three brothers, David Gregory, Donald Gregory and Larry Gregory, all of Advance. A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 25, in the Yadkin Valley Baptist Church cemetery with the Rev. Chris Clontz officiating. The family will be at Eaton Funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m. this evening, Feb. 24. They request memorials be considered for Hospice of Winston-Salem/Forsyth County, 1100-C S. Stratford Road, Winston-Salem, NC 27103, or to the building fund of Yadkin Valley Baptist Church, 1324 Yadkin Valley Church Road, Advance, NC 27006.
