KERNERSVILLE - Mrs. Brenda Ann Thorne, 65, of Kernersville passed away Friday, March 4, 2005, at her residence. Born on Feb. 12, 1940, in Spartanburg, S.C., she was the daughter of the late Paul and Marion Ezell. Mrs. Thorne was of the Baptist faith. She was retired from Tyco Electronics. She loved feeding the birds and taking care of her animals. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Mrs. Thorne was a great teacher of life to all her family and a cornerstone to the children's success. Surviving is her loving husband of 48 years, Myles Thorne of the home; two sons, Terry Carl Thorne and wife Kathy of Spartanburg, S.C., and Sgt. Maj. (USMC) Myles Christopher Thorne and wife Lori of Jacksonville; a daughter, Martha Jane Norman and husband David of Clemmons; and six grandchildren, Sarah Robertson, Joshua Norman, Kevin Thorne, Meghan Thorne, Katie Thorne and Heather Thorne. A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 8, at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with the Rev. Thomas Albert officiating. Burial will follow at Eastlawn Gardens of Memory. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 this evening, March 7, at the funeral home.
