Bruce Hayes Obituary
December 21, 1935 - February 19, 2021
Bruce James Hayes, 85, of Lexington went to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, February 19, 2021 at Novant Health, Forsyth Medical Center.
A graveside service will be held at 2 pm on Wednesday, February 24, 2021 in the Center United Methodist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Mitch Wilson officiating.
Mr. Hayes was born in Yadkin County on December 21, 1935 to Floyd and Ida Hayes. He was a retired plant manager, having worked for R.J. Reynolds for over thirty years and was a member of Center United Methodist Church. Mr. Hayes was a devoted Lions Club member, having served for over forty years and was passionate about volunteering, especially for the blind. He was a loving husband, father, brother and grandfather whose memory will be cherished forevermore. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of forty nine years and eight months, Elizabeth "Betty" Nolan Hayes; a son, Larry B. Hayes; and a daughter, Cathy Gough Cardwell.
Left to cherish his memory include his sons, Jeff Hayes and Zach Hayes; his step-children, Garrick "Brad" Davis and Trina Lynn McKechnie (Steve); a brother, Hugh Hayes (Sara); a sister, Marie Gallimore (Jerry); and five grandchildren.
Memorials may be directed to Center United Methodist Church at 186 Center Church Rd, Lexington, NC 27295 or to the Lions Club at 300 W. 22nd Street, Oak Brook, IL 60523-8842.

I enjoyed having breakfast at Randy's with Bruce on many occasions. He was always friendly, kind and considerate.
