Carroll Robertson Obituary

ROBERTSON JONESVILLE - Rejoice, Heaven needed another southern gospel tenor. Carroll "Chuck" Robertson, 72, went to Heaven Monday, Jan. 14, 2008. He was born June 2, 1935, in Forsyth County to the late Bailey and Vesta Robertson. Chuck sang in gospel groups most of his life, and the message he gave was Jesus. In his life on earth, nothing gave him more joy than his wife of 50 years, Mary Robertson; his children, Jeff Robertson and wife Becky and Robin Robertson; and his grandson, Jesse. He is also survived by three brothers, Jim, Don and Zeke Robertson, whom he truly loved; and a special partner, "Buddy." Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 19, at Slate Funeral Home in King, with the Rev. Lawrence Overby officiating. Burial will follow in King Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today, Jan. 18, at the funeral home. The family would like to thank the ICU unit at Hugh Chatham Hospital in Elkin for the special care and to all the doctors that took care of him over the last few years.

Dear family of Chuck Robertson: I am saddened to hear of his passing. When he was with the Pilots Quartet, the group, along with my brother, Larry Comer, stayed in my home once. They were in concert at my church, the Morristown Church of God, and were such a Blessing. You are in my prayers.

My name is Kay Leonard. I am Larry Comers sister. I still have the album by the Pilots. I put it on cassette so I could listen to it in the car. Larry and Chuck are singing around the throne together now! What an AWESOME thought! God bless each of you as you journey through life awaiting for the Lords return or you go before and then you'll be at home with your precious loved one! Isaiah 26:3

Hi Mary, Jeff and Robin. I am sorry to hear of Chuck's passing. It is sad here on this side but joy in Heaven. I know he would not return to the old life now that he has experienced Heaven. What rejoicing it must be!

I haven't seen any of you in years but do remember your Dad very well. You will be in my families thoughts and prayers.

Dear family, We were all blessed to have Chuck as a friend and classmate. Our sympathy to the relatives and may our God give you peace and comfort in healing. Chuck and I graduated together and Zeke was just behind us. Zeke I appreciate you for attending our evening dinner out, and it goes without saying you are welcome anytime. We will miss Chuck but we will not forget him as he has gone on to a blessed place to be with our Lord. Zeke thanks for your friendship and kindness and come to see us when you are in the area. We live in the Huntcliff Dev. off Haw River Rd. beside of Dawn Acres Golf course (8212 Chestershire Rd). God bless all you, Love, John & Nancy

Robin,
Though we only met you a couple of times when you purchased our home in Jonesville, I fondly recall how friendly you and your parents were. I wish I had gotten to know him better but there just never seems to be enough hours in our days since we are raising our grandson now. I remember how excited your mom was with my love for flowers and your dad with the fact that part of the yard was natural and he would not have to mow it. You and your mom are in my prayers and I know that God will provide for you in the days ahead.

I have many fond childhood memories of "Chuff" and our times together as young boys just learning our way in life. I can remember meeting him in Japan when we were in the Air Force which was a great surprise to both of us - especially since he spelled his name "Robinson" at that time due to a name error when he enlisted. My thoughts are now with each of you as you celebrate his life and all his contributions through your own memories about this special man. God bless each of you now and always. Good bye, Chuff ~ we will see you later. Grady
