Charles Kimmel Obituary
April 13, 1957 - March 12, 2023
Charles Douglas "Doug" Kimmel, age 65 of Winston-Salem, North Carolina passed away on Sunday, March 12th, 2023. Doug was born in Roswell, New Mexico on April 13th 1957 to his late parents, Lewis Kimmel and Betty Carico.
Doug was a member of the Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity at High Point University where he graduated with a bachelors of science in biology. Professionally, Doug was a chemist, a construction manager, and a general contractor. In his final years he used his numerous skills to serve his church and community. Doug was an avid musician and carpenter, and he was a man of strong faith. Doug felt a duty to help those in need, he used his gifts in countless ways throughout his life to better others.
His brothers, Roger Kimmel, Scott Pelton and sister, Betty Mayo welcomed him into heaven.He is survived by his beloved wife, Joan "Joni" Kimmel, his siblings, Carlan Foltz (Tom) and Rev. Lewis Kimmel (Jennie), his daughter Dr. Lain Graham (Jordan), his sons Chase Kimmel (Amy) and Lee Kimmel, and grandchildren, Gavin, Ryker, Piper and Riley.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, April 15, 2023 at 2 p.m. at Maple Springs UMC in Winston-Salem. Condolences may be made online at www.salemfh.com.
