Dear Gene, Dean, and family,

Seems I have been thinking so much of your mother this holiday season, strangely. I guess mainly because I had lost touch with her since she moved from Lyndon. I missed her letters once she was no longer able to write but just send cards which I looked forward to every Christmas for years.

I will never forget the summer in Colorado Springs with your folks, such nice people that made me feel at home. My mom began to wonder if I was coming home and got concerned that I would wear out my welcome.

Now my mom and your mom can visit again, at least I like to think so.

Remeberances always,

Gayle (Sims)Laidig

Dean, Gene, and families-

I am in Texas for the winter but always look thru the obits in our home paper and noticed your mom's there today. I am sorry to hear of her passing but she lived a good life. I have e-mailed her obituary to Gayle as I know she would want to know of her passing. I used to visit your mom when I took my mom (Virgie) up to visit her friends. She was a sweet lady. Remember the good times and know that she is in a better place.
