Charlotte O'Brien Obituary

Charlotte O'Brien

Jan 3, 1939 - Jul 1, 2024

Mrs. Charlotte Ann Quesenberry O'Brien lived a full life filled with love and heart. She grew up in the mountains of West Virginia with her parents Shafter and Almedia and her siblings. She loved home, family, her community and her Big Creek Owls.

Charlotte met the love of her life, and future husband, Joseph Anthony O'Brien, during what would be his final boxing match while she was working in the healthcare field. They married months later and traveled the US together until they established new roots in the Atlanta area, where she gave birth to two children. She would primarily be a stay-at-home mom but worked from home making specialty floral arrangements and desserts to live out her passions.

The next chapter of her life moved her to North Carolina, along with her husband and daughter. In her new life, she continued to travel the US, but learned to take adaptive trips with her husband. She dedicated herself to helping him transition through an accident he sustained and brought joy to living the fullest of lives for both.

Charlotte is survived in life by an army of loving caregivers; her daughters, Starr, Kelley, and Mary; her community, friends, family and forever Quinn.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 a.m., Saturday, July 6, 2024, at Holy Cross Catholic Church, Kernersville, NC, with Father Christopher Brock officiating. Inurnment will follow at the Holy Cross Catholic Church Columbarium.

In lieu of flowers, Charlotte wished for people to reconnect with someone they've lost touch with, reach out to a stranger, bring joy and kindness to someone in need, or support a charity of their choice in their community. Two of her favorite charities are St. Jude's and the Humane Society of Davie County.

I had the wonderful opportunity to work for sweet Mrs. O'Brien. She was very loving and her beautiful smile was contagious. I just loved her hugs also! I will miss her so very, very much. I truly loved her. Sweet Mrs.
O'Brien sincerely loved her family, her caregivers, and she truly loved the Lord. She also loved Quinn, who will miss her dearly. To Kelly, you were an awesone, amazing, faithful primary caregiver, and a very loving daughter. May you forever have the precious memories of your sweet Mom. To Burt, thank you for being such a wonderful and loving gentleman. Mrs. O'Brien also loved you dearly. May our Heavenly Father forever bless you, Kelly and her family. Keeping you all in my prayers, with love. Flo
