Mr. Claude Lee Harris Jr., 48, of 4252 Cody Drive was born Nov. 24, 1955, in Winston-Salem to the late Claude Lee Harris Sr. and Annie Vance Harris. He departed this life on Thursday, March 25, 2004, at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. Claude was a graduate of Parkland High School and attended Forsyth Technical Institute. He was of the Seventh Day Adventist denomination and enjoyed studying the Bible. He was employed by Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center as a PTO Technician for 14 years. He was previously employed for 12 years by the Marriott Corp., located in the Wachovia building. Claude was well-loved by patients and co-workers for his words of encouragement. He was preceded in death by his brother, Robert Harris. Claude is survived by his wife of 20 years, Doris Green Harris; three sons, Andre Crawford, Claude Lee Harris III and Dalton Chandler Harris; a grandson, Delvin Deer; a sister, Cassandra Wright; two brothers, David Harris and Bennie (Deborah) Harris; his father and mother-in-law, Deacon Selmon and Connie Green; a sister-in-law, Patricia Green; four brothers-in-law, Bishop S.T. (Shirley) Green, Reginald, Adrian and Christopher Green; three uncles, William (Barbara) Vance, David Vance and Ira (Nieasia) Vance; an aunt, Betty (Robert) Gray; a great-aunt, Cleo Vance; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends. The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 31, at Ephesus Seventh Day Adventist Church with Pastor Moses Edwards officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family visitation will be from 12:30 to 1 p.m. Wednesday at the church. The family will assemble at 5287 Silas Creek Parkway. (Russell)

Claude's presence in the workplace here at the Medical Center will be sorely missed. Daily he was a light to me, always cheerful and always giving praise to Jesus! See you in heaven brother.
