Mr. Clayton Gene Bonds, age 76 of Pinnacle, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Monday, February 13, 2023, at Novant Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem. Mr. Bonds was born on April 22, 1946, in Galax, Virginia to the late Rev. Vernie Wade Bonds and Gladys Ruth Cobler Bonds Chittum. Mr. Bonds was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend. He will be deeply missed by all that knew him. He is survived by his wife of 18 years, Sheila Ann Boose Bonds; two daughters and son-in-law, Renee Luck, Katrina Spach and David; four grandchildren, Brandon, Grayson, Kayla, Cody; four great-grandchildren; sisters and brothers-in-law, Judy Bonds Crowder, Wanda Bonds Opry, Barbara Bonds, Yugonda "Looney" Bonds Melton and husband Steve, Jennell Bonds Hiatt; brothers and sisters-in-law, Jay Bonds and wife Angela, Jimmy Bonds, Freddie Bonds and wife Connie; along with several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Mr. Bonds was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Edward Bonds; four infant siblings, Samuel Wade Bonds, Melvin Howard Bonds, Naomie Ruth Bonds, and Euna Mae Bonds. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 18, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy with Rev. Thomas Bailey officiating. Interment will follow in the Bonds Family Cemetery in Fancy Gap, Virginia. The family will receive friends on Saturday, February 18, 2023, from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy.
