Theresa, Phillip Whitney gave me this note in sunday school one morning after mom passed away. God is with us in our dark times. God has a purpose for allowing us to go through these dark times. Even in dark times we are walking toward light. The darkness will last as long necessary for god to accomplish his purpose. We learn move in the dark then in the light. What we learn in the darkness we are to share in the light. You know we love you and curtis will always be in our heart. Cathy & Greg....

Theresa, words escaped me yesterday when we met. I'm so sorry about your husband. I know he will be missed very much, but I also know he was so proud in heaven to see his grandaughter get baptized yesterday. May God bless you and bring you some peace.

Just as everyone else has said, it was such a shock to read of Curtis' passing. I still see him as that cute boy with the blonde hair and big smile. The death of a classmate and friend brings to us the reality that life on this earth is so short-that every minute with a loved one is one to be cherished. Know that your family is in all our thoughts and prayers. Karen "Tysinger" Holder,

Curtis was a great "pop" to the grandchildren. Allana talked of him often when she was in my class.
His friendly smile will be missed here on earth but will be Heaven's gain!

What does one say at a time like this. My heart goes out to Curtis's family. May God bring you comfort and peace. Psalms 23 says "though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death I will feel no evil, for thou art with me thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.....and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever."

Curtis was such a neat person and a wonderful friend when we were in school. I haven't seen him much since graduation, but still hold him in high regard.
Words of comfort: Come unto me all ye who are heavy laden and I wll give you rest.(Matthew 11:28) He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds.(Psalm 147:3)
It is never easy when someone you love so much goes on before you. But rest assured that Jesus will comfort you in your time of sorrow. Cast your care on Him and He will care for you.(1 Peter 5:7) In times of sorrow, I find my greatest joy and comfort in the Words of the Father, meditating on His Word and allowing Him to salve my heart through His precious Holy Spirit. I pray that God will make His loving presence very real to you during this sorrowful time.
God Bless & Keep you and your family.

Raeford and I were so sorry to hear about Curtis. I (Bobbie) went through elementary, middle and high school with Curtis. I remember well the great times our class had together during those years. Our heart goes out to you and your family. Remember that God gives us the grace to get through each minute of each day. He will get you through this. Raeford and I pray that you and your family can feel the arms of God wrapped around you, holding you up through this difficult time. Curtis will be greatly missed. He was a friend to all. I still have the picutre of him in my mind from our last class reunion. We will continue to keep your family in our prayers.

Theresa, We are all stunned as I know you are. It is often difficult to see light when things seem so dark. Keep your faith and look for brighter days to come. Your children and grandchildren need you to be their beacon of light to guide them through this rough storm. Fishing is great in the rain, Curtis must be havin' a ball. Let me know if there is anything I can do for you. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

I have had many great years since my son, Jason, brought Elyshia into my family. With her came her wonderful family. I am sincerely sorry for the great loss to this family. Through Elyshia I have spent time with Curtis, Theresa, Shannon and those wonderful children and know what a great father and grandfather Curtis was. I am also so grateful for the love that Curtis and his family has shown my son Jason. Jason loves Curtis with all his heart and will miss him sincerely.
I love you Elyshia!
