KINARD WINSTON-SALEM Doris Elaine Millner Kinard August 25, 1953 - May 13, 2012 Doris Elaine Millner Kinard was born August 25, 1953 to the late Russell and Mary Steward Millner in Stokes County, NC.. Doris departed this life May 13, 2012 at Forsyth Medical Center after a very long and courageous battle with Sarcoidosis. She was a 1971 graduate of East Surry High School in Pilot Mt., NC.. Doris was employed by the City of Winston-Salem Police Department for 28 years as Director of the 911 Communication Center. She was a very dedicated and loyal employee serving the communities of Forsyth County, with the very highest of Professionalism and Safety. Doris left a very high regard and loving impact on everyone that she came into contact with regardless of the encounter. Doris leaves to cherish her memory, a loving son, Anthony (Leslie) Kinard, of this city; two grandsons, the apples of her eyes, Anthony III and Jaylean Kinard. Two sisters, Marie Hickman and Patricia (Carson) Hatcher, both of Pinnacle, NC; two brothers, Luther (Shirley) Millner of Walkertown, NC and Russell (Vivian) Millner, of Pinnacle, NC.; several nieces, nephews great nieces and nephews and cousins and very devoted friends. A homegoing celebration will be held 1:00 p.m. Friday, May 18, 2012 at New Birth Worship Center, 1033 New Birth Dr., East Bend, NC where she was very loyal and dedicated member, and the family will receive friends from 12 Noon until 1:00 p.m.. Dr. James L.E. Hunt will be the eulogist and interment to follow in the Skyline Memory Garden, Mt. Airy, NC. The remains may be viewed today, from 2:00 until 6:00 p.m.. Doris will be so greatly missed by her family she leaves a void that cannot be replaced but we know that she is in the hands of the Lord and that she is not suffering anymore. To Doris's many friends, please know that she loved each of you dearly and she cherished each relationship. "Doris loved the Lord and she served him until the end".
