Dylan Ellender Obituary
November 28, 2000 - January 20, 2024
Mr. Dylan Michael Ellender, 23, of Winston-Salem, NC, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Saturday, January 20, 2024. Dylan was born in Forsyth County on November 28, 2000, to Mr. David Michael Ellender and Crystal Hicks Ellender. Dylan never met a stranger; he had the biggest heart, the brightest smile, and always kept everyone laughing. He graduated in 2019 from Reagan High School and attended Forsyth Technical Community College where he gathered his passion of being a diesel mechanic. Dylan loved being a diesel mechanic and many would call him "Mr. Fix-it-All." When Dylan was not working at Penske, he enjoyed spending time with his friends around a bonfire on Saturday nights, riding dirt bikes and four wheelers, and playing baseball. He also cherished moments with his girlfriend, Lillian. He is survived by his parents, Michael, and Crystal Ellender; a bonus mom, Ashley Ellender; a bonus dad, Shane Michael; two bonus sisters, Lexi, and Skylar Oakes; grandparents, Cynthia Ann Hicks, and Darrell Hicks; a girlfriend, Lillian Ingram; many aunts and uncles; and several cousins. Dylan was preceded in death by his grandparents, Connie, and David Ellender; and a great-grandpa, Bob Gallimore.
A memorial service will be held Friday, January 26, 2024, at 12 p.m. at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with the Rev. Darrell Hicks and John Byrum officiating. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at Hayworth-Miller. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to American Foundation for Suicide Prevention at www.supportingafsp.org. The family asks that you dress as Dylan would, in his jeans, boots, and dirtiest hat! Dylan was loved immensely by all that knew him but especially by his family, who were so proud of him. We will miss Dylan, but know he is now amongst the angels and has his eye on all of us. Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel is serving the Ellender family.

Crystal and Cindy Ann I am so very sorry for your loss. He was my great nephew yet I never knew him, I wish I could have. Such a nice looking young man and I know he will be missed by all who knew him! Just know I love you all and you are in my thoughts more than you know!! As I relive the days gone by, I can remember happy,fun and pure joy from a wonderful child who grew up be a wonderful person. These days were preschool days that I remember well. Dylan was loved by so many staff,teachers and classmates. From my mouth to God's ear may he comfort your family with love. May all who knew Dylan send prayers and support to the family. My heart aches for your loss. Sending much !

We are so sorry for the loss of this great young man. We enjoyed watching him play baseball with our grandson Scout at the WSNationals not so many years ago. He was a good kid!!! Such a loss!!
