Edward Casper Obituary

CASPER WINSTON-SALEM Edward Paul Casper Nov. 6, 1952- July 17, 2011 Edward Paul Casper, 58, of Winston-Salem passed away on July 17, 2011. Mr. Casper was born November 6, 1952 to Luther Paul and Maxine Scott Casper of Salisbury, NC. He graduated from Boyden High School in Salisbury and earned his pilot's license at the age of 16. He served in the United States Air Force for two years and in the Air National Guard for seven years as a flight simulator operator. He worked for 25 years at Corn Products, Inc. until his health declined. Mr. Casper is survived by his wife of 35 years, Jacalyne Duggins Casper; daughter, Dare Alexandra Casper; daughter, Amelia Casper Spencer and husband Steven; step-grandson, Jacob Spencer and beloved grandson, Tristan Zane Casper. Mr. Casper is also survived by his mother of Salisbury; brother, Donald Casper; sister-in-law, Cathy Casper; father-in-law, Everett F. "Pete" Duggins; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Fred and Jeanette Byerly; three nephews and one niece. He was preceded in death by his father, Luther Paul Casper; his brother, Ronald Casper; and his mother-in-law, Virginia Welch Duggins. The family will receive friends at their home on Friday evening from 6-9 p.m. Burial services will be held on Saturday evening at 7:30 p.m. on the hillside overlooking the family farm, per Ed's wishes. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor's choice. Ed was an amazingly talented person who fought a courageous battle with rheumatoid arthritis, cancer, and many other health issues over the years. He is now healed.
