Eldridge Conley Morris Jr.

MORRIS WINSTON-SALEM Eldridge Conley Morris, Jr. April 30, 1934 - March 9, 2012 Eldridge Conley Morris, Jr., better known as E.C., joined his departed loved ones in heaven March 9, 2012 at the age of 77. E.C. was born in Concord, NC April 30, 1934 to Eldridge Conley Morris Sr. and Ovelia McDonald Morris. He was preceded in death by his parents and two older brothers, Edward and Noel Morris, cherished mentors during his life. He is survived by his wife Barbara Johnson Morris, their daughter Ovelia Loflin, husband Les their children Kayla and Natalie Loflin of Pfafftown and Joe Morris, wife Paula, and their children Rachel and Michelle Morris of Chapel Hill. E.C. retired from Alltel Telephone in 1996 as a switchman and also served in the US Army for 3 years in Germany. He was an active member of Beck's Baptist Church, where he served as a Deacon, Sunday school teacher, and on numerous committees. E.C. never met a stranger and enjoyed diverse activities such as identifying wild flowers, hiking, skiing, beekeeping, woodworking, and traveling. But his favorite activities were bringing joy to others lives, which he accomplished until the day of his passing, and listening to the creek from the back porch of his mountain cabin. EC lived each day to the fullest, getting the most from each day and each age of his life, allowing him to look forward with confidence and back without regret. Memorial Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, at Beck's Baptist Church. Dr. Karl Minor will officiate. Visitation will follow the service. Memorials may be made to Hospice & Palliative CareCenter or FRIENDS of the Blue Ridge.
