Mr. Frank Wilson Frye, 80, of Winston-Salem died Sunday evening, March 7, 2004, at the Autumn Care of Mocksville. He was born July 23, 1923, in Yadkin County to Anderson and Hattie Hancock Frye. Mr. Frye was a graduate of Reynolds High School and received a degree from the Machine Drafting and Design Institute in Chicago, Ill. He also served in the U.S. Army and worked for 30 years in the Winston-Salem Fire Department, from 1951 to 1981. Mr. Frye was preceded in death by his wife, Italy Caudle Frye; and three sisters, Thelma Benbow, Florence Humphries and Alice Quinn. Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Rick and Sharon Frye of Winston-Salem; a daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and Frank Williams of Winston-Salem; and two grandsons, Danny and Robert Frye. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 10, in the East Bend Friends Cemetery in East Bend. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today, March 9, at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 1315 Ashleybrook Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
