Gladys Dunlap Obituary

MADISON - Mrs. Gladys Reid Dunlap, 87, of 423 McCollum Road, died Thursday, Nov. 23, 2006, at her residence. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 26, at Bald Hill Baptist Church, with the Rev. Dickie Goad officiating. Interment will follow in the Kallam Grove Christian Church Cemetery. Mrs. Dunlap was born on Oct. 1, 1919, in Rockingham County, a daughter of the late George Washington Reid and the late Lizzie McGhee Reid. She was a member of Bald Hill Baptist Church and was a homemaker. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis Hanes Dunlap, and sons, Lewis Franklin Dunlap and Donald Wayne Dunlap. She is survived by her children, Brenda Craig, Barbara Stewart, Vickie Wilson, Billy Dunlap, Harold Dunlap, and John Dunlap, all of Madison; a sister, Elizabeth Purgason of Madison; 26 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren, two of whom were very special, Little Nikki and Boo, who were her heart; and two great-great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today, Nov. 25, at the funeral home and all other times at the residence. Ray Funeral Home in Madison is serving the family.
