WARRENSVILLE - Mrs. Goldie Blanche Eller Shepherd, 83, died, Sunday, Aug. 17, 2003, at Ashe Memorial Hospital. The Rev. Jim Greer and the Rev. Jimmy Francis will hold the funeral service at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 20, 2003, at Boone Family Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Ashelawn Memorial Gardens and Mausoleum. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 this evening, Aug. 19, 2003, the funeral home. Mrs. Shepherd was born in Ashe County on Thursday, Oct. 30, 1919, to Henry Lee Eller and Pearl DeBoard Eller. She was a homemaker. She is survived by three sons, Leon Shepherd and wife, Sandy, of Warrensville, Lewis Shepherd and wife, Kathy, of Jefferson and Jim Shepherd and wife, Lois, of Warrensville; five daughters, Myrna Phillips and husband, Bruce, and Myrtle Carlton and husband, Wayne, all of Winston-Salem, Kathryn Barr and husband, Ray, of Lansing, Pat Campbell and husband of Warrensville and Lynn Shepherd of Durham; a sister, Mary Woodie of Greensboro; 11 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Flowers are accepted. Condolences to the family may be made at the Web site, www.boonefuneralhome.com. Boone Family Funeral Home in West Jefferson is in charge of these arrangements.
