Granvil Rogers Obituary

ROGERS WINSTON-SALEM - Mr. Granvil Sidney "Sonny" Rogers, 73, of Winston-Salem died Thursday, August 20, 2009 at Forsyth Medical Center. Mr. Rogers was born December 27, 1935 in Poulan, GA, the son of the late William Hugh Rogers and the late Ella Deal Rogers. He was retired from Goslen Printing with over 25 years of service. He loved to work outside in his yard, and was a member of West Haven Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Claudette Bricker Rogers; son, William "Bill" Rogers and wife, Amanda; grandchildren, Sidney Rogers and Kurtis Rogers; and one sister, Deloris Wilhoit. A Funeral Service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with the Rev. Dave Washburn officiating. Interment will follow in Oaklawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Memorial contributions may be made to West Haven Baptist Church. Online condolences may be made at www.hayworth-miller.com.
