STROUD HIGH POINT - Mr. Harold Stroud, 76, of High Point died Monday, Sept. 24, 2007, of complications from Parkinson' s disease. He was born Jan. 23, 1931, in Guilford County, a son of Gurney L. Stroud Sr. and Ella Myers Stroud. In 1952, he married the former Della Shore of Greensboro, who survives of the residence. Harold was a member of Oak Hill Friends Meeting in High Point. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War, was chosen Honor Man of his company and graduated from the Naval Lithographers School in the Pentagon, Washington, D.C. He was staff photographer for Western Electric Co. for 10 years, including an assignment in the South Pacific Marshall Islands on the Safeguard missile project. Harold was a sales representative for Hall Printing Co. until he retired in 1994. He owned and operated Stroud Photography for 20 years and was a member of the Professional Photographers Association of North Carolina. As a talented photographer, Harold captured the beautiful moments of life for so many brides, children and families. His artistry will live on in print form. Two sisters preceded him in death, Aileen Stroud Pettrey and Louise Stroud Linthicum. In addition to his wife, he is also survived by his daughter, Brenda Draughn, son-in-law David and granddaughter Jamie of Winston-Salem; and brother Gurney L. Stroud Jr. and wife Nadine of High Point. Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 26, 2007, at Oak Hill Friends Meeting, with the Rev. Rodney Powell and the Rev. Terry Kersey officiating. Visitation was from 1 p.m. until the time of the service at the Meeting House. Interment followed at Floral Garden Park Cemetery.
