Huber Arthur Stanbery, 79 of Mocksville died Wednesday, November 29, 2023. He was born in Elizabeth, TN in 1944 to the late Carl McKinley and Glenna Woodring Stanbery. Hubert met the love of his life, Shirley Peeks Stanbery in 1959. Excited to start their lives together, they were married in 1964. Hubert is remembered well for his trade as a cabinet maker and enjoyed working at Twin City Cabinets with Steve Womble and his co-workers. He served as a Deacon in the Baptist church and was well loved by many. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Boyd (Ina Mae) and a sister-in-law, Emma Lee (Howard). Surviving is his loving wife of 59 years, Shirley; his brother, Howard (Luzi); their three sons, Bryan (Kim), Brad (Becky), Eric (Tina); five grandchildren, Josh, Timothy, McKinley, (Hailey), Megan (Austin) and Larkin; three great grandchildren, Irie, Adelaide, and Jack. As well as brothers-in-law, Alan Hill (Joyce) and Eddie Peeks (Sandy); and many nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be conducted at 7 p.m., Friday, December 1, 2023, at Hayworth-Miller Lewisville Chapel by Andy Cook of Summit Church, Oak Ridge and Dr. Ronnie Baity of Berean Baptist Church, Winston Salem. The family will receive friends from 5:30 to 7 p.m. prior to the service. Entombment will be conducted 11 am, Saturday, December 2, 2023, at Westlawn Gardens of Memory. The family would like to acknowledge the staff at SICU (Surgery Intensive Care Unit) at WFUBMC for all the exceptional care and kindness that was given to Hubert.
