Jake Gainey Obituary

GAINEY WINSTON-SALEM - Jake Gainey, Jr. 2411 Dunbar St., passed away Fri., March 27, 2009 at WFU/BMC. He was native of Forsyth Co.. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jake Gainey, Sr. and Carrie S. Gainey; brother, Jesse Gainey and daughter, Samaria Gainey. He is survived by, his loving wife, Carolyn G, Gainey, of the home; a son, Jake Gainey,III and a daughter, Sabrina Gainey, both of the city; eight grandchildren; one great grand; three sisters, Catherine Gainey; Olivia Freeman and Carrie Drummond, all of the city; two brothers, Horace Gainey, of Denver, Colo. and Nathaniel Gainey, of the city; sister-in-law, Bonnie Gainey and brother-in-law Robert (Parthenia) Galloway, of the city; a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be conducted 12 noon Wed., April 1, 2009 from Douthit' s Chapel, where Rev. Dairl Scott will officiate and interment to follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The remains may be viewed today from 2 till 6 p.m. Arrangements are in the care of Douthit Funeral Services.
