James Bradley Doty Jr.

DOTY Mr. James Bradley Doty Jr., 76, of 5515 Pine View Drive, Winston-Salem, died Thursday, March 6, 2008, at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. He was born Sept. 27, 1931, in Forsyth County to the late James Bradley Doty Sr. and Rassie Mae Jester Doty. Mr. Doty was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served in the Korean War. He was retired from Gravely Tractor in Clemmons and was currently employed part-time with the Winston-Salem school system. Mr. Doty was a member of Calvary Church of the Living God. In addition to his parents, Mr. Doty was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Sue Doty; son Michael Craig Doty; sister Nancy Vestal; and brother Billy Doty. Survivors include daughter and son-in-law Sonja Flynt and husband Rick of Pilot Mountain; son and fiancee Brian Doty and Tracy Kollman of Winston-Salem; grandchildren Summer and Autumn Doty of King; sisters Sarah Lou Copple of Winston-Salem; Glenda Myers and husband James of Winston-Salem; and Cleo Phelps of Winston-Salem. To Juanita Cromer, a special thank you for the love and care you gave to our father during his illness. A memorial service will be conducted at 7 Monday evening, March 10, at Howell-Nelson Funeral Chapel of Pilot Mountain, with the Rev. Lee DeBusk and the Rev. Larry Neal officiating.
