Mr. James Gray "Bud" Wood, 75, of Winston-Salem died Sunday, Sept. 28, 2003, at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born in Winston-Salem on March 25, 1928, to the late Bernie and Ruth Alexander Wood. He served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was retired from AT&T with 37 years and 3 months service and was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America. He was of the Baptist faith. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Rhebba Hearn Wood; a son, the Rev. David B. Wood and wife, Claudette Harper Wood, of Winston-Salem; a daughter, Lee Ann Wood Chrisco and husband, Gerald Lee Chrisco, of Advance; five grandchildren, Joshua David Wood of Camp Hill, Pa., Jennifer Renee Wood of Winston-Salem, and Allison Danielle Chrisco, Ashley Nicole Chrisco and Aleah Michelle Chrisco, all of Advance; and two great-grandchildren, Nathaniel Byron Wood and Philip Michael Wood of Winston-Salem. The funeral service will be held at 3:30 p.m. today, Oct. 1, at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with the Rev. David B. Wood and the Rev. Tony Brown officiating. A military graveside service will follow in Parklawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Crisis Control Ministries, 200 E. 10th St., Winston-Salem, NC 27101-1512 or Winston-Salem Rescue Mission, 717 Oak St., Winston-Salem, NC 27101-1424.
