Jeanette Dillon Obituary

DILLON COLFAX - Jeanette R. "Granny" Dillon, 97, passed away Friday, June 6, 2008, at Moses Cone Memorial Hospital. A native of Colfax, Mrs. Dillon was born April 5, 1911, to the late Daisy Frazier and Dolph R. Roberson. "Granny," as she was known to everyone in the community, loved her garden and her flowers. Her kitchen was open to family and friends where she always had a pot of soup or beans that she had lovingly prepared on her woodstove. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Roy Dillon; and two children, Betty Jean Dillon and Donnie Dillon. Survivors include her sons, Billy Dillon and his wife, Jeannette, and W. Vernon "Rudy" Dillon and his wife, Kathy; grandchildren Steve, Marc and Vic Dillon and Deanna Dillon Hoxworth; great-grandchildren Terry, Jonathan, Joanna, Connor, Cameron, Caison, Summer and Dalton Dillon, Hannah Hoxworth, Abby Nelson and Leslie Flynn; and great-great-grandson Caleb Winterfeldt. She is also survived by a special nephew, Larry Roberson. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 10, at Pierce-Jefferson Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Chuck Peters officiating. Interment will follow in Sandy Ridge United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends, from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday, June 9, at the funeral home in Kernersville, and other times at the home of Rudy Dillon. Memorials may be made to the Cemetery Fund of Sandy Ridge United Methodist Church, c/o Sandy Ridge United Methodist Church, 2223 Sandy Ridge Road, High Point, NC 27265.
