Jerry Sue Swaim Gillespie, age 85, passed away October 17, 2021. She was born December 6, 1935 in Yadkin County to the late Melvin Davis Swaim and Sarah Elizabeth Chambers Swaim. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, John Banner "J.B." Gillespie. She is survived by her son, James (Regina) Gillespie, grandchildren, John (Kacie) Gillespie, Neil (Lisa) Boss, Linda (Sean) Boss-Baetjer; great-grandchildren, Jamie, Channing, Parker, and Calvin; sister, Carol Swaim Collins; niece, Stephanie (Derrick) Adams; nephew, Cliff (Lauren) Collins; great-nephew, Cameron Bare, and great-niece, Sarah Bare. In her younger years Jerry was a member of Swan Creek Baptist Church. Jerry and J.B. began attending Marler Road Baptist Church in the 1990's where she fell in love with her Marler Road Church family. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, and spending time with her family. The family will receive friends Tuesday, October 19, 2021 from 6:00 PM till 8:00 PM at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Jonesville. Her funeral service will be at 2:30 PM, Wednesday, October 20, 2021 at Marler Road Baptist Church with Rev. Randy Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Memorials may be made to Marler Road Baptist Church, 4433 Collins Road, Hamptonville, NC 27020. Online condolences may be made to www.gentryfuneralservice.com.

My sweet, precious Aunt Jerry I love and miss you so much. Thank you for being such a Godly woman and for being such a good influence in my life. I'm so thankful that you got to see us and especially your great-grandsons Channing and Jamie before you left us. I love you and will see you soon.
