COKE KING - Ms. JoAnn Lawson Coke, age 68, of King NC, passed away Saturday, February 13, 2010 at the Forsyth Medical Center. Ms. Coke was born May 9, 1941 in Surry County to the late Wendell and Josie Gwyn Lawson and was a member of Little Mountain Baptist Church. Surviving are one daughter and son-in-law Judy and Darryl Kennedy of Bigelow, AR, two sons and a daughter-in-law, Junior Coake, Greer, S.C. and Bobby and Nancy Coake Lowgap; grandchildren and spouse, Larry and Iulia Coake of Columbus, OH, Donald Cardwell of Akron, OH, Heather Kennedy of Bigelow, AR, Brandy Coake and Codie Coake both of Greer; step grandchildren, Robert Kennedy of Columbus, OH and Larry Kennedy of Ft. Myers, FL, and two sisters and brothers-in-law Janis and Gene Danley of Ararat, NC., Joan and Jimmy France of Mt. Airy and loving companion of her life, Bud Culler of King; special friend, Pat Abraham, Monroe, MI. In addition to her parents, Ms. Coke was preceded in death by a grandson, Michael Kennedy; two brothers, Larry Lawson and Wendell Lawson, Jr. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 16, 2010 at Moody Funeral Home Chapel, by Hospice Chaplain Sharon Snow, with burial to follow in Turkey Ford Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday, February 16, 2010 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at Moody Funeral Home in Mt. Airy.
