Mr. Joseph Kiser Cromer, 78, of Winston-Salem died Saturday, Jan. 17, 2004, at his home. Mr. Cromer was born Aug. 3, 1925, in Stokes County to Joseph Hilary Cromer and Clemmie Kiser Cromer. He was a member of Shiloh Lutheran Church and retired as a machinist from R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Co. with 36 years of service. He served his country during World War II in Navy aviation in the South Pacific and was a member of the Pfafftown VFW. Preceding him in death were his parents; a brother, Wade Cromer; and two sisters, Lena Ashby and Moneda Westmoreland. Surviving are his wife of 53 years, Mary Beck Cromer; a daughter, Melody C. Webber of Charlotte; and a son, Barry A. Cromer of Wilmington. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Jan. 19, at Vogler & Sons Reynolda Road Funeral Home with burial to follow in Forsyth Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today, Jan. 18, at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Shiloh Lutheran Church, Lewisville-Vienna Road, Lewisville, NC 27023.
