June Hartley Obituary

BOOMER - Mr. June Thomas Hartley, better known as "Tommy," 62, of Pumpkin Creek Road, Boomer, died Sunday, May 22, 2005, at his home. Mr. Hartley was born July 4, 1942, in Wilkes County to Frank and Faye Walker Hartley. He was a member of Sharon Walker Baptist Church. Mr. Hartley was the president and co-owner of Hartley Brothers Sawmill, Inc. Tommy was a loving and devoted husband and father, a wonderful brother and the most kind and generous of friends. He will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him. In addition to his mother, Faye W. Hartley, Mr. Hartley was preceded in death by two brothers, David Hartley and Danny Hartley. Mr. Hartley is survived by his wife, Violet Ferguson Hartley, of the home; two daughters, Danielle Hartley of Wilkesboro and Dena Hartley of the home; a son, Derek Hartley of Boomer; his father, Frank Hartley, of Wilkesboro; two sisters, Sue Soots of Wilkesboro and Teresa Triplett of Lenoir; six brothers, Phillip Hartley of North Wilkesboro, Gene Hartley and Mark Hartley, both of Boomer, James Hartley of Wilkesboro, Mike Hartley of Ferguson and Charles Hartley of Lenoir; and a granddaughter, Kimberlin Walton. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 25, at Sharon Walker Baptist Church, with the Rev. Paul R. Laws and the Rev. Burl Jones officiating. The pallbearers will be Shane Hartley, Stephen Hartley, Jason Hartley, Michael Hartley, Aaron Soots and Matthew Hartley. The family will receive from 6 to 8 this evening, May 24, at Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home. Flowers will be accepted, or memorials may be made to Hospice of Wilkes, 1907 W. Park Drive, North Wilkesboro, NC 28659.
