Mr. Larry Wayne Jester, 81, passed away peacefully at SECU Hospice Home in Yadkinville, Sunday, July 21, 2024. Mr. Jester was born October 16, 1942 in Yadkin County to the late "Jack" Evertte Jester and Nell Groce Jester. In addition to his parents, Mr. Jester was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 53 years, Ellen Davis Jester; and his brother, Locksley Jester. He was a member of Richmond Hill Baptist Church, and he was retired from RJ Reynolds. Larry enjoyed farming, bird hunting, and watching racing. He is survived by his children, Tracy Renegar, Eric (Angie) Jester, and Lance Jester; special granddaughter, Lanie Sierra Jester; grandchildren, Brandy (Nick) Martin, Kyle (Taylor) Renegar; great-grandchildren, Briggs Martin, Brody Renegar, Macy Renegar; sister, Leda Everhart.
The family will receive friends at Richmond Hill Baptist Church, Wednesday, July 25, 2024 from 1 to 2 p.m. A graveside service will follow the visitation at 2 p.m., at Richmond Hill Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Will Hamric officiating. Mr. Jester will be available for viewing from 1 to 5 p.m., Tuesday, July 23, 2024 at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville. The family would like to thank the staff of Brookridge Retirement Community for caring for Mr. Jester over the one and half years and the staff of Mtn. Valley Hospice for the loving care shown to Larry. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice of Yadkin County, 243 N. Lee Ave., Yadkinville, NC 27055.
