Linda Joyce Warren Bowen of Winston-Salem, N.C. passed away peacefully on January 3, 2026 at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home at the age of 81. She was born January 21,1944 in Alamance County to the late Lloyd Wade Warren and Teva McLamb Warren. She graduated from Havelock High School, East Carolina College and completed graduate studies at UNC-Greensboro. She retired as a classroom teacher from the WS/FC Schools with 33 years of service. Following retirement, she enjoyed working for several years as a faculty secretary at Salem College. Linda enjoyed growing flowers (especially roses) and participated in the Extension Master Gardener Program. She also enjoyed singing with the Shepherd Center Singers as well as playing the upright bass for bluegrass jams which she hosted at her home in Tobaccoville, N.C. with her husband, Danny Bowen.

Linda was a devoted Christian and faithful member of Mizpah Moravian Church. Her personal relationship with God guided her every action and she was known for visiting the sick and shut-ins, sending cards and prayer cards of encouragement, giving to local food banks and supporting many not-for-profit charities and organizations. She will always be remembered for her laughter and her joyful spirit, her kindness and her thoughtfulness, her sweetness and her generosity. Proverbs 3:5-6 was the watchword for her life.

Mrs. Bowen was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel Shore Bowen, with whom she shared 56 years of marriage before his death in 2022. She is survived by daughter, Jill Gardner of Kernersville, N.C.; daughter, Jennifer Bannon (Jack) of Catonsville, Md.; a very special granddaughter, Aubrey Jean Bannon; a sister, Lelia West of Severna Park, Md. and many cherished cousins; 3 beloved nieces; and their families and many dear friends.

Jill and Jennifer, I remember your mom as a lovely and kind lady ... and I remember you, Jill, as a wonderful student at Mt. Tabor. May all you shared with your mother bring you peace and comfort in this time of sadness.
