Ms. Linda Louise McCoy, AKA"Poochie" was born January 13, 1953 to Robert and Ruby Robinson McCoy in York, South Carolina. She was a 1972 graduate of Atkins High School and attended Winsalem Business College. Ms. McCoy moved to Irvington, NJ where she resided for 24 years before retiring back to Winston-Salem, NC. Spiritually, she was a former member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church before changing her membership to Galilee Missionary Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Robert McCoy Jr.; and son Octavius Lamont McCoy. She departed this life Thursday November 11, 2021 at Forsyth Medical Center following a period of illness. Survivors include two sons, Jerry McCoy and Da'Ron McCoy of the home; stepmother. Joan McCoy of Sharon, SC; six granddaughters, DaMya Evans, Shaniqua Cuthbertson, Miracle McCoy, Nautica Leslie, Jamaeca Roberts and Tamia Roberts; one grandson, Octavius Lamont McCoy; six great grandchildren; two sisters, Patricia McCoy and Carolyn McCoy; one brother, Demon (Kim) McCoy of Graceland, GA; three nephews, Teron Hannah, Teon McCoy and Robin Jackson; one niece, Tamika McCoy; special goddaughter, Mekia (Javar) Clark; and a host of other relatives and friends. A Service of Memory will be held 1:00 pm Monday November 29, 2021 at Galilee Missionary Baptist Church. The family will receive friends from 12:30 pm-1:00 pm at the church.
