Charles Wolvin Obituary
Vic Wolvin, 83, passed away on September 6, 2025, in Littleton, Colo. Vic was born in Boulder, Colo., March 21, 1942 to Lila Wertsbaugh Wolvin and Charles E. Wolvin.
Vic will be remembered as an educator, free spirit, and devoted lover of nature. A lifelong learner, he found joy in exploring the world and sharing his passions with others.
Raised in York, Neb., Vic enjoyed tennis, photography, and Scouts before graduating from Nebraska Wesleyan University in 1964. He began his career in Aurora, Colo. where his enthusiasm made him a beloved teacher. He cared for classroom animals, managed the school greenhouse, and led survival trips for students in the Colorado mountains.
In 1963 he married Bonnie Stansbury (later divorced). Vic and Bonnie started a family and, with their three children, embraced the outdoors through skiing, hiking, and camping.
In 1978 Vic moved to Coeur d'Alene, Idaho where he and his wife, Barbara Miller (later divorced), pursued a successful business and a self-sufficient lifestyle.
In retirement, Vic volunteered with raptor programs, played competitive tennis, painted, traveled, and cultivated a vineyard as a Master Gardener, sharing winemaking with his son.
Vic inspired many to learn, explore, and to truly live and he will be greatly missed.
Survivors include son, Tom Wolvin (Carolyn) of Littleton, Colo.; grandson, Greyson Wolvin of Worland Wyo.; son, Scott (Dianna) Wolvin of Cheyenne Wyo.; daughter, Kristi (John) Lux of Fort Collins, Colo.; grandchildren, Austin (Christy) and Lucy Lux (1), Avery Lux (Caroline), Elizabeth Lux all of Fort Collins, Colo.; brother, David Wolvin of Denver, Colo.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles E. and Lila Wertsbaugh Wolvin of York, Neb.
Cremation has taken place.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
