Lucy Lewis Obituary

KERNERSVILLE - Mrs. Lucy Coggins Lewis, 70, died Monday, Oct. 21, 2002, at Bradford Village West. Mrs. Lewis was born Aug. 30, 1932, in Forsyth County, a daughter of the late Earl Bruce and Ruth Shields Coggins. She spent 35 years in the travel business, retiring as a travel agent with Venture Travel in Kernersville. She was actively involved with the formation of the Kernersville Little Theatre and many other cultural events, including the Honey Bee Festival in Kernersville. Mrs. Lewis was of the Methodist faith. Surviving are her husband, William R. Lewis of Kernersville; a daughter, Lori and her husband, Michael Anderson, of Kernersville; a son, Stan Lewis of Chapel Hill; a brother, Sherrill Coggins of Winston-Salem; and a sister, Phyllis Thurman of Summer-field. A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednes-day, Oct. 23, at Mount Gur Cemetery by the Rev. Phil Hulen and the Rev. Don Martin. There won't be a formal visitation. Memorials may be directed to the donor's choice.
