Margaret Vestal Obituary
March 25, 1939 - July 17, 2021
Mrs. Margaret Ann Anderson Vestal, 82, passed away Saturday, July 17, 2021 at her home. Mrs. Vestal was born March 25, 1939 in Iredell County to Vernie and Elsie Jackson Anderson. She was a member of Courtney Baptist Church for more than 30 years. Mrs. Vestal worked at Crownwood in Mocksville for over 20 years, and she worked at Yadkin Migrant Head Start for the last 15 years, where she loved the kids, her coworkers, and the parents. She enjoyed camping at Midway Campground, hummingbirds, flowers, playing Bingo, gardening, and she was always concerned about other people. Mrs. Vestal loved yard sales and Goodwill, the Sunshine Club at church and spending time with her family.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Vestal was preceded in death by her husband, Leo Franklin Vestal; a granddaughter, Melissa Ann Hutchens Hicks; siblings, Dora (Charles) Summer, Betty (Troy) Spillman, Dwight (Connie) Anderson, and Wayne "Bud" Anderson. She is survived by three children, Deborah Rochester, Michael Vestal, and Diane Vestal; grandchildren, Donald Gray Wilkins (Tiera) and Michelle Hutchens (Nathan); great-grandchildren, Brydgett (Joey) Cline, Dyllon Hutchens and Trae Hensley; great-great-grandchildren, Brayden, Jace and Baby; sisters, Dorothy (Melvin) Childress and Ruth (Elga) Johnson; her special K-9 companions, Serf and Precious; special fur kid, Cody; special friends, Linda, Regina, Polly, Keshia (Tony), Elaine, and Tamara (Mike); sisters-in-law, Connie, Dot, and Sue; and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00PM, Saturday, July 24, 2021 at Courtney Baptist Church with Pastor Jamie Williams officiating. Burial will follow at Liberty Baptist Church cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 7:00 to 9:00PM at Gentry Funeral Service in Yadkinville.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Courtney Baptist Church, 3341 Courtney Church Rd, Yadkinville, NC 27055.
The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to Mtn. Valley Hospice and Emily with Davie Medical for the loving care given to Mrs. Vestal.

Margaret was a class act. She loved everyone and was dearly loved by many...especially the children she cared for. I miss her Terri. She was an ear, a friend and super person. I love you always Margaret.

Margaret was wonderful person. I loved working with her at heAdstart preschool. Margaret was a joy to be around and she and I would joke around and we would help each other with things . I will miss her so much. I would always comment on how pretty Margaret always looked. Margaret always wore such pretty clothes earrings and necklaces to work. She always looked so nice. Ms. Margaret was a very dear and much loved retired employee of YVEDDI Head Start. She always had a smile for everyone and the children and staff adored her. What a precious lady. She will be dearly missed by all of us at the Head Start Admin Office.
