Marjorie Thelma Buckner Strader

Mrs. Marjorie Thelma Buckner Strader, 72, of Winston-Salem, passed away Jan. 4, 2007, at Forsyth Medical Center. She was born in Buncombe County on June 23, 1934, to Merritt and Maude Anderson Buckner. Mrs. Strader was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and a graduate of Guilford College. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Mrs. Strader is survived by her husband, Burley W. Strader; a son, Jeffrey L. Strader and wife Cynthia and grandchildren Stephen Strader and Lauren Strader of Wilmington; a daughter, Laura Strader Bethea and grandchildren Taylor Bethea, Hunter Bethea and Megan Bethea of Kernersville. A graveside service will be conducted at 3 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 6, at Westminister Gardens, 3601 Whitehurst Road in Greensboro, with the Rev. Francis Smith and the Rev. Gary Byrum officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Samaritan Ministries, 1243 Patterson Ave., Winston-Salem, NC 27101; or Group Homes of Forsyth Inc., 526 W.
