Mark Casey Obituary

Casey, Mark Alexander

May 19, 1955 - June 4, 2023

Mark Alexander Casey, 68, of Winston-Salem passed away on Sunday, June 4, 2023 at Forsyth Hospital after a brief illness. Mark was born May 19, 1955 to James Hubert Casey and Polly Estep Casey. In addition to his parents, Mark was preceded in death by his brother, Mike Casey. Mark was employed as a Transportation Associate for L'eggs products. He attended UNC Charlotte and graduated from Salem College while working at Sara Lee. Despite being born with myelomeningocele, also known as spina bifida, that left Mark with a handicap, he still managed to do most things his brothers did. Mark persevered and thrived. He was a cub scout, he enjoyed fishing, camping, sledding, swimming and even learned to ride a bike. Mark was also a car enthusiast. He had a variety of cars that included four wheel drives, convertibles and a corvette. Mark especially enjoyed his Harley Davidson motorcycle. Mark is survived by his brother, David Casey (Donna) of Wilmington, North Carolina; nephew, Shane Casey (Jessica) of Conway, South Carolina; niece, Jamie Stokes (Richard) of Loris, South Carolina; sister-in-law, Dianne Casey of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; and several aunts, uncles and cousins. No more pain for our brother; you deserve to rest peacefully in heaven. No service is planned at this time. Online condolences may be made at www.hayworth-miller.com

Mark crossed my mind just today. Punched in his name and was saddened to see he had passed Worked with Mark and his Dad in the parts department at Regal Oldsmobile in 1980-82. We had a blast, and lots of laughs. Had a nice stereo in there, we would crank up and we'd both start singing to J.Geils Band "Love Stinks"....good times. RIP my friend until we meet again. Condolences to his family
