My heart is heavy and sanded. I met Miles over a decade ago at group. We were both hot messes lol. I remember when they walked into the room for the first time our eyes met and the rest was history for us. To experience our early adulthood together to have someone else get what you are going through truly and to not be alone in the journey to heal. Such an amazing person inside and out. Always brought so much joy, laugher and compassion no matter what. Feisty, smart and ridiculously witty. They were authentically themselves and inspired others to embrace. Such a great gift to have got to experience their presence and be friends with. One of a kind

Miles was a bright light in the world, and I'm glad we were together through the wild times of the pandemic lockdown. She was often not able to see herself as a light in the world the way so many close to her did, but that doesn't change that she was.

I'm still in disbelief that Miles has passed. I met them back in 8th grade, and they influenced and changed my life in more ways than they may have ever known. They came to help me when I was temporarily homeless in 2017 and whenever I see Wisteria flowers, I think of Miles because of how much they lit up when they saw them that day. The last message Miles sent me was telling me that they would give me a hug in person, and that they would give me a digital hug for now. Miles was one of the first true friends I ever had, and I was always in awe of their talent, intelligence, and their desire to help those in need. I wish we had gotten more time to hang out together.

Miles was such an amazing human and I'm grateful to have had them in my life for over a decade. They were one of my favorite people to get lost in forest with. They definitely brought a much needed light into my life. I will miss that light, part of my soul has dimmed.

For the past 20 years it has been such a gift to be friends with Miles. I will never forget her laugh and just how firecely they loved people and animals. I'll never forget the many beautiful, funny and adventurous memories we had together. I'm just so grateful I got to love her and be loved by her. I'm sending so much love to Mile's family and loved ones at this time.

I´m still in disbelief over this. Miles possessed a sharp wit, keen sense of humor, and was a very talented bassist. Too much time passed since we last spoke and I regret it. Miles was a key part of the Weaver String Ensemble in the first years of its existence and was one of the students of that group who I was proudest of.

Truly a one-of-a-kind human. Lucky to have had the Weaver experience together and make memories over the years. Planting a tree for Miles is very fitting and I know it will inspire everyone who sits under it.
