Mozelle Landreth Mabe, 95, went home to be with her Lord Friday evening, January 30, 2026, at her home.
Mozelle was born on December 14, 1930, in Forsyth County to the late James Guthrie and Carrie Alvina Martin Landreth. She was retired from Sara Lee Hosiery after 30 years of service and was a faithful charter member at Belews Creek Baptist Church since 1954. Through the years, Mozelle served at her church as Treasurer, Youth Sunday School Teacher, Chairperson-Secretary-Treasurer on Cemetery Committee, Choir, and sang soprano in The Mabe Trio with her husband, Lonnie, and daughter, Barbie. Mozelle loved doing all types of crafts. She enjoyed sewing and designing clothes for her and her girls. She sewed many quilts and embroidered quilts of the First Testament and the Last Testament. Many dolls were designed and sewed by her.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 72 years, Lonnie Gyles Mabe; sons, Curits Mabe and Dennis Mabe; grandson, Jeffrey Mabe; brothers and sisters, Rachel Snow, Delbert Landreth, James Landreth, Vaudie Shaw, and Nancy Harris.
Mozelle is survived by her two daughters, Barbie Mabe of Kernersville, N.C., and Deborah Mabe Hopkins of Belews Creek, N.C.; grandchildren, Hope Mabe Rea (Chris) of Stanleytown, Va., Russell Ashburn (Michelle) of Walkertown, N.C., Carrie Ashburn of Walnut Cove, N.C., Ben Martin (Heather) of Alma, Ga., and Zackary Hopkins of Belews Creek, N.C.; great-grandchildren, Alisha Hill (Sheldon) of Virginia, Stephen Williams (Sandra) of Reidsville, N.C., Michael Williams of Virginia; step-grandson, Colin Brady of Montana; step-granddaughter, Hannah Brady of Greenville, N.C., Emmerie and Ava Shaw, of Walnut Cove, N.C., Scarlet Martin, of Alma, Ga.; step-grandsons, Aiden and Josh Kirkley, and Ren Reeves, of Alma, Ga.; great-great-grandchildren, Andrew, Ethan, and Ian Hill, of Virginia; sister, Helen Scott, of Winston Salem, N.C.; brother, Wallace Landreth, of Walnut Cove, N.C.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
There will be a 2 p.m. funeral service held on Friday, February 6, 2026, at Burroughs Chapel with Pastor Herb Mabe officiating. Burial will follow at Belews Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Friday, February 6, 2026, from 1 to 2 p.m. at Burroughs Funeral Home.
