Martin, Patty Lash
September 22, 1930 - April 27, 2021
Mrs. Patty Lash Martin was born in Winston-Salem, North Carolina to the late Kelsey and Carol Lash on September 22, 1930. Patty attended the Winston-Salem Forsyth County Public Schools and was a graduate of Carver High School, Class of 1950. She also attended Buffalo State University in New York. Patty retired as a teacher from the Winston-Salem Forsyth Schools. She was a lifetime member of the Eastern Star Meridian Chapter #308. She also was a member of Bethania A. M. E. Zion Church, where she served on the Usher Board, Missionary Board, and the Lay Council for many years. Patty enjoyed gardening, planting, traveling, cooking, sewing, and spending time with her family and friends. Mrs. Martin passed away on Tuesday, April 27, 2021. She is preceded in death by her husband, Willie P. Martin; a son, Willis Martin; son-in-law, Victor G. Lowe, Sr. and grandson Victor G. Lowe, Jr.; brothers, Leroy, Jerome Carl and Paul Lash; sisters, Camilla Evans and Shirley Taylor. She is survived by four daughters: Ms. Karen Pratchett, Ms. Amanda Martin, Evangelist Dr. Toni Lowe, all of Winston-Salem, NC, and Mrs. Janet (Juan) Cason of Atlanta, GA; sixteen grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be private. There will be a public viewing on Saturday from 12 p.m. – 5 p.m. at Clark S. Brown & Sons Funeral Home. Interment will be at Bethania A.M.E. Zion Church Cemetery.
