Mr. Paul Monroe Calloway, 85, of Winston-Salem died at his home Sunday, Nov. 14, 2004, after a short illness. He was born March 27, 1919, in Yadkin County to Silas Monroe Calloway and Ida Ruby Casstevens Calloway. Mr. Calloway was a member of Lewisville Baptist Church and worked for Hanes Dye and Finishing, retiring in 1980. He served in the European Theater during World War II, being in the first group drafted. He was a gifted carpenter and handyman. Mr. Calloway is survived by his wife of 66 years, Ruby Stewart Calloway; a sister, Mrs. Ruth Gregory of Winston-Salem; and a number of nieces and nephews. The service will be held at 11 a.m. today, Nov. 17, at Vogler's Reynolda Chapel with interment following at Forsyth Memorial Park. The Rev. Ralph Stanley and the Rev. Jo Bjorgling will officiate. The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. today before the service. Memorial gifts may be made to the Lewisville Baptist Church Building Fund, 125 Lewisville-Clemmons Road, Lewisville, NC 27023.
