Campbell, Richard Edward

January 24, 1969 - April 27, 2023

Richard Edward Campbell, 54, passed away unexpectedly, early Thursday morning, April 27, 2023.

Richard was born on January 24, 1969, in Franklin County, N.Y. to Clifton Frank and Diane Malette Campbell. He was a member of The Kings Promise Church and was the owner and operator Campbell Automotive. Richard was a master mechanic and loved drag racing. He was also a fan of the Dallas Cowboys. Richard was a faithful man who was loved by many and was known for his sense of humor and contiguous laughter.

Richard was preceded in death by his father, Clifton Frank Campbell. He is survived by his loving wife, Sheril Hurt Campbell; mother, Diane Campbell; four children, Brandi Campbell, Blake Campbell (Laura), Melanie Jones (Adam), and Heather Stewart (Jeremy); six grandchildren, Sophia, Jhett, Abbigail, Nolan, Trey, and Emmett; two sisters, Julialynn Campbell and Candise Widener (William); brother, Steven Campbell (Bridget); numerous special nieces and nephews; and his devoted AA family.

There will be no formal services, however the family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 2, 2023, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Burroughs Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to AA Walnut Cove: 295 Old School House Road, Walnut Cove, NC 27052, AA King, 725 West Dalton Road, King, NC 27021 or to The Kings Promise Church: 1426 Old Town Road, Walnut Cove, NC 27052.
