To the Tyndall Family,
I was shocked and saddened by this news, and I wish that I had known prior to the funeral, for I would certainly have attended. I studied Insurance Law under Professor Tyndall and, later, used Dick in many mediations. He was classy and irreverent at the same time, a great story teller, an excellent mediator and attorney, and a good man. My sympathies.

Dear Tyndall family, I am so shocked and sad to hear of the loss of this amazing man. While serving the 22nd Judicial District I first met Mr. Tyndall in his frequent and successful mediation activity in that court. After returning to the 27-A as the Trial Court Administrator, it was with great excitement I realized this bar had also come to know and appreciate the extraordinary talent Dick brings to bear in mediations. He was my "go-to guy" whenever possible, and I will miss him. You all are in my prayers.

I always looked forward to mediations Mr. Tyndall conducted because he always made me laugh and had some great stories to tell. He knew how to appeal to both sides and obtain a resolution. He was a great mediator and I made many request for his services. He will be greatly missed. Angela J. Biggs, Claims Examiner III

I will miss my friend, Dick. He was a gentleman. I always enjoyed my time with him. I requested that he mediate all my personal injury cases because both sides would listen to him. His knowledge and wisdom were evident...but it was the kind way he helped people deal with a difficult time which I admired the most in Dick.He was a good lawyer and a good man.

Dick Tyndall was an adjunct professor at Wake Forest Law School during my time there as a student. He did a wonderful job of instructing us on insurance law, but more than that was a great role model as a practicing attorney. In particular, he gave us a practical understanding and perspective that no text book could ever provide. I recall speaking with him on several occasions and found him to be very personable and interested in me as an individual and a future lawyer. Looking back, I realize that he was sacrificing his own time and effort to benefit us as students and the legal profession in general. Aside from his great stories and sense of humor, I will remember Mr. Tyndall because he took the time to pass on some of his practical knowledge and expertise to those of us that really needed it.

I am truly sadden at the loss of Mr Tyndall. I have had several mediations with him over the years and found him to be quick witted and very intelligent. He helped many people to get through, what was for some,a difficult situation, with humor-often at the expense of himself and his 'leg'. He would tell us that he loved Lake Norman and watching the ducks-but I think he loved interacting with people more. I thank his family for sharing him with us over the years and pray that God will bless you with his comfort and grace.

I grew up with Melissa, John and Stacy on Kinnamon Rd. in Winston-Salem NC. I met his new wife once when I was working at Kroger, and he was so delighted to see me again and to introduce her to me,it made me feel as if no time had passed since our last visit. Melissa and I were best friends for some time, and he frequently drove us to movies, skating etc. He was always funny, and I loved it when he was the "adult" doing the driving. I am saddened to learn of this, and the planet somehow feels lighter with the loss of a wonderful man.

I had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Tyndall during a mediation as well. I highly respect him and admire him. Mr. Tyndall is a brilliant man, a loving husband and family man. I will miss his stories. Especially the "cat" stories. He always had a story to tell. To his wife and family, my heart goes out to you and my prayers will be with you. The world has lost a great man. He will be missed by many, including myself. God Bless.

We are sadden to learn of the death of Mr. Tyndall. He was a wonderful person and was just great to work with on mediations. He always had a funny story or some words of advise to share with us and we will always treasure that.

I had the pleasure of meeting and knowing Mr. Tyndall as a mediator over the past few years. The world has lost and heaven has gained a very fine gentleman.. He was held in high esteem and conducted himself in a manner that commanded it.
