Mrs. Robbie Sue Johnson Bowman, 77, passed away Thursday, December 19, 2024, at Lexington Health Care. She was born September 26, 1947, in Surry County, NC, to the late Robert Johnson and Mary Jacqueline "Jackie" Boyles Johnson. Robbie was a member of Beck's Baptist Church. She enjoyed watching NASCAR, sunbathing, traveling the world, gambling, reading, and binge-watching reality tv shows. In addition, she loved her grandchildren dearly as well as her animals. Robbie was a student loan coordinator for Wachovia in her early years, before becoming a homemaker to raise her two children. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Dennis Wayne "Chipper" Bowman and grandson, Declan Foster. She is survived by her son, David Wayne Bowman; a daughter, Dr. Melissa Robin Bowman Foster (David, "Robbie"); three granddaughters, Julia Dixie Bowman, McKinley Mae Foster, and Miley Robin Foster; and sister, Melissa Jane Johnson Surratt (Randy).
The family will receive friends at 1 p.m., Friday, December 27, 2024, at the funeral home. A funeral service will follow 2 p.m., Friday, December 27, 2024, at Hayworth-Miller Rural Hall Chapel with Pastor Bobby Vaughan officiating. Interment will follow at Crestview Memorial Park. I´ve kept Robbie in my prayers even after I lost contact with her. She was such a joy to serve thru the Shepherd´s Center, and I have missed her. Much love to her family. She enjoyed telling me about her family and showing me pictures and art by the grand children. May her family find peace and comfort thru friends and loved ones.
